Which manufacturing companies in Florida sponsor Green Cards for employees?
Florida's largest manufacturing sponsors include Lockheed Martin and L3Harris Technologies in the aerospace and defense sector, Carrier Global and Johnson Controls in industrial equipment, and Medline Industries and B. Braun in medical device manufacturing. Food processing companies such as Tropicana and Publix's distribution operations also have established sponsorship track records. Sponsorship activity varies by facility, role seniority, and whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under EB-2 or EB-3 criteria.
Which cities in Florida have the most manufacturing Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Orlando and the broader I-4 corridor lead in manufacturing sponsorship activity, driven by aerospace, defense, and simulation technology employers. Tampa and St. Petersburg host significant industrial equipment and food processing operations. Jacksonville's port proximity supports manufacturing logistics roles with sponsorship history. South Florida, particularly Miami-Dade and Broward counties, concentrates medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing with employers who regularly file PERM labor certifications.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Florida?
Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field are most commonly sponsored under the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. In Florida's manufacturing sector, this includes process engineers, quality assurance managers, manufacturing engineers, materials scientists, and operations managers. Skilled production technicians and machinists may qualify under EB-3 unskilled or skilled worker classifications. Positions in aerospace systems, CNC programming, and medical device quality control appear frequently in Florida PERM filings.
How do I find manufacturing Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface jobs where employers have a verified history of sponsoring work visas and Green Cards, filtered by industry and state. For manufacturing Green Card jobs in Florida, you can filter by visa type and industry on Migrate Mate to see roles from aerospace, defense, medical device, and food processing employers actively hiring in cities like Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. This removes the guesswork of identifying which Florida manufacturers are open to sponsorship.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in manufacturing?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages but does not change the federal Green Card process. Florida's manufacturing sector is heavily tied to defense and aerospace contracts, meaning many roles involve security clearance requirements that can complicate or extend sponsorship timelines for foreign nationals. Additionally, Florida's growing Puerto Rican and Latin American workforce has shaped some manufacturers' hiring, but Green Card sponsorship still follows standard PERM labor certification and I-140 petition procedures regardless of applicant background.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card manufacturing jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
