Job Summary
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Program Coordinator to join our team of professionals.
Duties:
- Coordinates and organizes three Medicine & Society strand courses and electives, including but not limited to arranging logistics, assisting in developing syllabi, orienting students and monitoring progress, proctoring exams, entering and submitting grades, developing and maintaining online course presence.
- Provides administrative support in the classroom, including collecting and distributing assignments and transcribing evaluations.
- Assists course director with maintaining accurate course records and files for three credit courses and electives developed for the Medicine and Society strand.
- Provides administrative support to the strand faculty, such as scheduling and supporting meetings, distributing correspondence, preparing materials for meetings and appointments, and following up on pending items.
- Develops and maintains course/student databases, such as course reviews, faculty student evaluations, and other relevant materials.
- Provides information and relevant documents on the strand courses in response to requests from students, FIU departments, other academic institutions, and community organizations.
- Provides support in ensuring faculty coverage for curricular and clinical assignments by processing faculty requests for vacation, sick, and business leave, as well as emergency requests to establish coverage.
- Assists with developing and maintaining course catalogs and website to ensure faculty, students, and others receive relevant information on the strand.
- Assists FIU undergraduate students in the NeighborhoodHELP Services Corp during their assigned volunteer work in the strand.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties do not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience; OR 5 years of office or related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Previous experience working within higher education preferred.
