Which consulting companies sponsor J-1 visas in Florida?
The Big Four accounting and consulting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, have Florida offices in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando that have historically participated in J-1 visa exchange programs. Mid-size management consulting firms and healthcare consulting organizations operating in South Florida also sponsor J-1 participants, particularly through intern and trainee designations. Sponsorship availability varies by office size, program cycle, and current business needs.
Which cities in Florida have the most consulting J-1 sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for consulting J-1 opportunities, driven by its role as a gateway for international business, financial advisory, and Latin American market consulting. Orlando follows, supported by hospitality consulting, technology services, and management consulting tied to its large corporate and tourism-adjacent economy. Tampa has a growing professional services sector, particularly in healthcare consulting, financial services, and operations advisory roles.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for J-1 sponsorship?
J-1 sponsorship in consulting most commonly covers intern and trainee categories. Intern positions are for current university students or recent graduates within 12 months of graduation. Trainee positions suit professionals with a degree plus one year of relevant experience, or five years of experience without a degree. Roles in management consulting, IT consulting, financial advisory, and operations analysis are common fits, provided they align with the applicant's field of study or professional background.
How do I find consulting J-1 sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate lists consulting roles in Florida that include J-1 visa sponsorship, letting you filter specifically by visa type and state rather than sorting through postings that never mention sponsorship at all. Because J-1 consulting positions in Florida are tied to program cycles at firms like Deloitte or Accenture, checking Migrate Mate regularly and applying early in the cycle improves your chances of connecting with open intern or trainee slots.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for consulting J-1 sponsorship?
Florida's concentration of international business activity, particularly in Miami's Brickell and Coral Gables districts, means many consulting J-1 positions involve cross-border work supporting Latin American or Caribbean clients. Applicants should confirm their host company is either a designated J-1 sponsor or is working through an approved third-party program sponsor. Florida has no state income tax, which affects overall compensation context, but J-1 participants remain subject to federal tax obligations and potential treaty benefits depending on home country.
