Which companies sponsor visas for pharmacy technicians in Florida?
The most active sponsors for pharmacy technicians in Florida are large hospital systems including AdventHealth, HCA Florida Healthcare, Baptist Health South Florida, and Tampa General Hospital. Major retail pharmacy chains with significant Florida footprints also file sponsorship petitions, particularly for experienced technicians in specialty or compounding pharmacy roles. Hospital-based positions tend to generate the most consistent sponsorship activity given their staffing volume and HR infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for pharmacy technician roles in Florida?
The H-1B visa is the most common path for internationally sponsored pharmacy technicians, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation when a bachelor's degree in a relevant science field is required. Some employers also sponsor through the EB-3 immigrant visa category for permanent positions. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose pharmacy technician role meets the qualifying criteria under the USMCA professional list.
Which cities in Florida have the most pharmacy technician sponsorship jobs?
Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville generate the highest volume of pharmacy technician sponsorship opportunities in Florida. Miami's large multilingual patient population drives strong demand across hospital and retail settings. Orlando's concentration of major hospital systems, including AdventHealth's flagship campus, creates consistent openings. Tampa and Jacksonville also show steady hiring activity, particularly in health system pharmacy departments and specialty infusion services.
How to find pharmacy technician visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find pharmacy technician visa sponsorship jobs in Florida, with listings filtered specifically for internationally sponsored roles. On Migrate Mate, you can search by state and job title to surface Florida-based pharmacy technician positions at hospital systems, retail chains, and specialty pharmacies that have a documented history of filing sponsorship petitions. Filtering by employer type helps narrow results to organizations with established immigration processes.
Are there state-specific considerations for pharmacy technician sponsorship in Florida?
Florida requires pharmacy technicians to register with the Florida Department of Health and pass a recognized national certification exam, such as the PTCE or ExCPT, before practicing. International candidates pursuing sponsorship should confirm their credentials align with Florida's licensure requirements before applying, as employers typically require active Florida registration as a condition of employment. Florida's high retiree population and growing healthcare infrastructure mean demand for qualified technicians remains consistently strong across the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored pharmacy technician jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
