Which companies sponsor visas for pharmacy technicians in Washington?
Hospital systems are the most active sponsors for pharmacy technician roles in Washington. UW Medicine, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Providence Health and Services, and MultiCare Health System have historically filed work visa petitions for healthcare support staff. Large retail pharmacy operators with Washington locations also sponsor in some cases, though health system inpatient pharmacy roles generate the majority of sponsorship activity.
Which visa types are most common for pharmacy technician roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly pursued visa for pharmacy technicians, though eligibility depends on whether the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Some internationally trained candidates pursue TN visa status if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals. Employer-sponsored immigrant visa categories, particularly EB-3 for skilled workers, are also used by Washington health systems for long-term hires.
Which cities in Washington have the most pharmacy technician sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and its surrounding metro area, including Bellevue and Redmond, concentrate the highest volume of pharmacy technician positions tied to major health systems and academic medical centers. Spokane is a secondary hub, driven by Providence and MultiCare facilities serving eastern Washington. Tacoma also has meaningful activity through MultiCare and other regional hospital networks. Rural areas of Washington have limited sponsorship activity compared to these urban centers.
How to find pharmacy technician visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Washington pharmacy technician roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can browse positions already tagged to pharmacy technician work in Washington. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers and visa types are relevant to healthcare support roles in this state.
Are there state-specific considerations for pharmacy technician sponsorship in Washington?
Washington requires pharmacy technicians to register with the Washington State Department of Health, and roles in regulated pharmacy settings must meet state licensing standards. International candidates pursuing sponsorship should verify their credentials meet Washington's registration requirements before or alongside visa processing, as employers will typically require proof of eligibility to work in a licensed pharmacy setting. Washington's prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B petitions filed by state employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored pharmacy technician jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
