Which companies sponsor visas for drivers in Georgia?
Large logistics and transportation employers with established Georgia operations are the most common sponsors, including UPS, which has its global headquarters in Sandy Springs, along with Amazon Logistics, FedEx, and major trucking carriers operating freight corridors through the state. Staffing agencies that place commercial drivers with these carriers have also filed Labor Condition Applications for driver roles, though sponsorship availability varies by employer and role type.
Which visa types are most common for driver roles in Georgia?
H-2B visa is the most frequently used visa for seasonal or temporary driver and transport worker roles, covering periods of peak demand. For longer-term positions, some employers pursue H-1B visa sponsorship for logistics coordinator or fleet management roles that require a degree, but standard driving positions rarely qualify under that category. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain transportation-adjacent occupations listed under USMCA.
Which cities in Georgia have the most driver sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta and its surrounding metro counties, including Fulton, Gwinnett, and DeKalb, account for the majority of sponsored driver positions, given the concentration of distribution centers, freight terminals, and airport logistics operations at Hartsfield-Jackson. Savannah is a secondary hub driven by the Port of Savannah, one of the busiest container ports on the East Coast, generating consistent demand for port drayage and regional delivery drivers.
How to find driver visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles with visa sponsorship, so you can search driver positions in Georgia without sorting through employers who won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings across Atlanta, Savannah, and other Georgia metros from carriers and logistics companies that have active sponsorship histories. Filtering by location and role category on Migrate Mate gives you a targeted list rather than a general job search.
Are there state-specific considerations for driver sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Georgia requires commercial drivers to hold a valid CDL issued under federal standards, and international applicants will need to convert or obtain a Georgia CDL before operating commercially, regardless of visa status. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for driver roles in Georgia are benchmarked to the Atlanta and Savannah metro areas separately, which affects what sponsors must pay. Employers in Georgia's logistics sector are also subject to federal motor carrier safety regulations that apply to any sponsored worker in a driving role.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored driver jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
