Which companies sponsor visas for drivers in Massachusetts?
Large logistics and transportation employers with a documented history of visa sponsorship in Massachusetts include Amazon Logistics, UPS, FedEx, and regional carriers operating out of Boston and Worcester distribution hubs. Hospital and university shuttle fleets, such as those serving Mass General Brigham and Harvard, also hire sponsored drivers for specialized medical and campus transport roles.
Which visa types are most common for driver roles in Massachusetts?
H-2B visas cover temporary non-agricultural positions and are used for seasonal commercial driving roles, particularly in tourism and event transport around Boston. H-1B sponsorship for drivers is rare and generally limited to roles that involve a specialized degree component, such as logistics management. EB-3 immigrant visas are the more common pathway for permanent sponsorship of skilled and unskilled driver positions.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most driver sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the largest share of sponsored driver positions in Massachusetts, driven by its port activity, major hospital networks, and dense corporate campuses. Worcester is a growing secondary hub with distribution center expansion along I-290. Springfield, as western Massachusetts's logistics center near I-91, also generates consistent demand for CDL-holding commercial drivers.
How to find driver visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find driver roles in Massachusetts where employers are actively open to sponsoring work authorization. Searching by role type, such as CDL-A truck driver or medical transport driver, and filtering to Massachusetts narrows results to relevant opportunities without having to sort through positions that do not offer sponsorship support.
Are there state-specific considerations for driver sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts requires commercial drivers to hold a Massachusetts CDL issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles, which can involve additional testing and medical certification steps for internationally licensed drivers. The state's prevailing wage requirements under public works contracts mean sponsored drivers on those jobs must meet wage floors set by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, which employers factor into their sponsorship decisions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored driver jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
