Which companies sponsor visas for drivers in Pennsylvania?
Large logistics and freight companies with significant Pennsylvania operations, including Amazon Logistics, UPS, and regional trucking carriers operating along the I-78 and I-81 corridors, have filed for sponsored driver positions. Distribution center operators in the Lehigh Valley and Greater Philadelphia area also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for transportation roles. Sponsorship is not standard across the industry and varies by employer and role type.
Which visa types are most common for driver roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-2B visa is the most common nonimmigrant category for commercial driver and transportation roles that involve temporary or seasonal need. For longer-term positions, some employers pursue H-1B visa sponsorship for specialized logistics roles, though standard driving positions rarely meet specialty occupation requirements. EB-3 green card sponsorship is the most practical immigrant visa pathway for qualified drivers with employer support.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most driver sponsorship jobs?
The Lehigh Valley, particularly Allentown and Bethlehem, has emerged as a major distribution and logistics hub with consistent demand for commercial drivers. Philadelphia and its surrounding suburban counties generate significant last-mile delivery and regional trucking activity. Pittsburgh supports driver roles tied to manufacturing and freight logistics in western Pennsylvania. These metro areas account for the majority of sponsored transportation job filings in the state.
How to find driver visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Pennsylvania driver roles where employers are open to sponsoring international workers. You can search by location and role type to surface relevant positions in cities like Philadelphia, Allentown, and Pittsburgh. Because sponsorship in transportation varies widely by employer, using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to reviewing general listings.
Are there any state-specific considerations for driver sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania requires commercial drivers to hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by PennDOT, which international workers would need to obtain or convert from a foreign license. Prevailing wage requirements apply to sponsored positions under most visa categories, and Pennsylvania's Department of Labor and Industry sets wage benchmarks for transportation occupations. Drivers operating across state lines must also meet federal FMCSA regulations regardless of immigration status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored driver jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
