Position: IT Business Analyst III
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 5 Months
Client: Southern Company services.
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst III to lead the intake, evaluation, and prioritization of new business and technology requests.
This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technical leads, solution architects, and delivery teams to define business needs, assess value and dependencies, support solution planning, and maintain a prioritized backlog and roadmap.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary intake lead for new business and technology requests.

Gather and document high-level business requirements.

Evaluate requests based on business value, urgency, risk, dependencies, and strategic alignment.

Maintain and prioritize the technology request backlog.

Analyze hardware and software needs and perform cost-benefit assessments.

Partner with technical teams to develop solution approaches and effort estimates.

Maintain product or program roadmaps.
-
Coordinate communication between business stakeholders and delivery teams.

Provide status updates, timelines, priorities, and decision summaries.

Prepare executive-ready reports, intake assessments, and roadmap updates.

Identify project risks, dependencies, and resource requirements.
Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in IT business analysis, demand management, product planning, or portfolio intake.

Strong experience gathering requirements and managing stakeholders.

Experience with backlog prioritization, roadmaps, and technology planning.

Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across business and technical teams.

Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar tools is preferred.

Utility, energy, or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
