Which companies in Idaho sponsor visas for ML software engineers?
Micron Technology is Idaho's most prominent visa sponsor in tech, regularly filing H-1B visa petitions for engineering and ML-adjacent roles at its Boise headquarters. HP Inc. and Clearwater Analytics have also sponsored technical roles in the state. Smaller software firms and fintech startups in the Boise metro occasionally sponsor as well, though at lower volumes than large employers.
Which visa types are most common for ML software engineer roles in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa for ML software engineers in Idaho, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related field. Candidates already holding H-1B status, O-1 visas for individuals with extraordinary ability, or those on OPT or STEM OPT may also find Idaho employers willing to proceed without new cap filings.
Which cities in Idaho have the most ML software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the overwhelming share of ML software engineer sponsorship activity in Idaho. As the state's tech and financial services hub, it hosts the headquarters of Micron, Clearwater Analytics, and a growing cluster of startups. Nampa and Meridian, both part of the Treasure Valley metro, occasionally have openings from employers with satellite offices, but Boise remains the primary hiring market.
How to find ml software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters ML software engineer roles in Idaho by visa sponsorship willingness, saving you from manually screening hundreds of listings. Because Idaho's sponsoring employer pool is smaller than major tech hubs, using a targeted tool like Migrate Mate helps you identify active openings at Boise-area companies like Micron and Clearwater Analytics without wading through roles that won't support visa candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for ML software engineers seeking sponsorship in Idaho?
Idaho follows federal H-1B prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor, so employers must pay the wage level corresponding to the role's complexity and location. Boise's prevailing wages for ML engineering are lower than coastal markets, which can affect offer competitiveness. Boise State University's computing programs create a local graduate pipeline, and some employers prefer candidates already in the Treasure Valley rather than sponsoring for relocation, so proximity can matter.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ml software engineer jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
