Search Manager - Consulting Jobs in IllinoisManager - Consulting Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for manager - consulting roles in Illinois?
The largest sponsors for consulting manager roles in Illinois are the major professional services firms with Chicago offices: Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, KPMG, EY, McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain. Mid-market firms like Huron Consulting and West Monroe Partners, both headquartered in Chicago, also have documented histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for experienced consulting professionals.
Which visa types are most common for manager - consulting roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for consulting manager roles in Illinois, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, management, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, Canadians and Mexicans for TN visa status under the USMCA, and those with multinational company backgrounds may qualify for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa.
Which cities in Illinois have the most manager - consulting sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of consulting manager sponsorship activity in Illinois. The Loop, River North, and Fulton Market neighborhoods host the primary offices of the largest consulting firms. Suburban locations like Downers Grove and Schaumburg have some consulting presence tied to corporate clients, but candidates should focus their search on Chicago proper for the broadest set of opportunities.
How to find manager - consulting visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for consulting manager roles in Illinois without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location and role type to surface openings at firms like Deloitte, Accenture, and Chicago-based boutique consultancies that have active sponsorship programs for this level.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for consulting managers in Illinois?
Illinois does not impose additional state-level visa requirements, but the Chicago market's concentration of large consulting firms means many employers here are H-1B dependent, which carries stricter non-displacement attestations on the Labor Condition Application. Consulting roles at the manager level are generally well-positioned for sponsorship because the degree and specialized expertise requirements align clearly with the H-1B specialty occupation definition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manager - consulting jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
