Which companies sponsor visas for supply chain specialists in Illinois?
Large Illinois-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for supply chain roles include Abbott Laboratories, Caterpillar, Baxter International, United Airlines, and Kraft Heinz. Amazon and Walmart distribution operations in the Chicago metro area have also filed LCAs for supply chain positions. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate among enterprise-level companies with established HR and immigration infrastructure rather than smaller regional distributors.
Which visa types are most common for supply chain specialist roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for supply chain specialists in Illinois, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or operations research. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or management science roles. L-1 transfers apply when a specialist moves from an overseas office of a multinational already operating in Illinois.
How to find supply chain specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can search supply chain specialist roles in Illinois without sorting through positions that won't consider international applicants. The platform surfaces openings from employers with documented sponsorship histories in the state, which is especially useful in Illinois where supply chain hiring spans Chicago's corporate headquarters, suburban distribution hubs, and downstate manufacturing operations.
Which cities in Illinois have the most supply chain specialist sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the largest share of supply chain specialist sponsorship opportunities in Illinois, particularly in corporate procurement, logistics planning, and operations roles tied to the city's freight and distribution infrastructure. The surrounding suburbs, including Naperville, Aurora, Downers Grove, and Lake Forest, also see significant activity from headquarters of companies like Navistar, Brunswick, and Anixter. Peoria draws demand from Caterpillar's global supply chain operations.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for supply chain specialist visa sponsorship?
Illinois employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific supply chain role and work location, which varies by county and job level across the state. Chicago metro prevailing wages are generally higher than those for downstate positions. Illinois has a strong university pipeline from schools like Northwestern, University of Illinois, and DePaul that feeds international talent into local supply chain roles, meaning some employers are familiar with sponsoring recent graduates on OPT before transitioning to H-1B.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored supply chain specialist jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
