Which companies sponsor visas for AI product engineers in Indiana?
Salesforce, Eli Lilly, Cummins, and Anthem (now Elevance Health) have established H-1B sponsorship histories in Indiana for technical product roles. Indianapolis-based healthtech and fintech startups also sponsor, though less consistently than large enterprises. Checking USCIS H-1B disclosure data and DOL LCA filings for Indiana employers is the most reliable way to confirm which companies have actively sponsored AI-related roles.
Which visa types are most common for AI product engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for AI product engineers in Indiana, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, AI, or a related engineering field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT often transition to H-1B sponsorship through Indiana employers. L-1B intracompany transfer visas apply for those moving from a foreign office of a multinational with Indiana operations.
Which cities in Indiana have the most AI product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis is by far the most active city, concentrating the majority of Indiana's AI product engineer sponsorship activity across enterprise tech, healthcare IT, and financial services. West Lafayette, home to Purdue University, attracts some roles tied to university research commercialization and nearby tech employers. Bloomington has a smaller but active tech presence connected to Indiana University's informatics and AI programs.
How to find ai product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa-sponsored roles and lets you filter AI product engineer jobs by state, including Indiana. Because Indiana's sponsorship activity is concentrated among a defined set of enterprise employers and healthtech companies, filtering by location and role type on Migrate Mate surfaces the most relevant openings without wading through listings from employers who don't sponsor.
What should AI product engineers know about Indiana's hiring market before applying?
Indiana's AI product engineer hiring is heavily weighted toward healthcare IT, insurance technology, and advanced manufacturing, reflecting the state's dominant industries. Employers here often expect product engineers to bridge machine learning capabilities with domain-specific applications, not just general AI tooling. Purdue and IU alumni networks are active in the Indianapolis market, and prior internship or co-op experience with Indiana employers can meaningfully improve sponsorship prospects at those same companies after graduation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai product engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
