Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for AI product engineers?
Intel is one of Oregon's most consistent H-1B visa sponsors, with large engineering operations in Hillsboro. Nike's technology division in Beaverton, Daimler Trucks North America, and a growing cluster of Portland-based AI startups also file sponsorship petitions for product engineering roles. Established tech firms with Oregon offices tend to have dedicated immigration support infrastructure, making them more reliable sponsorship options than early-stage companies.
What visa types are most common for AI product engineer roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for AI product engineer positions in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, AI, or a related field. Candidates already holding an L-1B intracompany transfer visa or an O-1A for individuals with extraordinary ability may also find pathways through Oregon employers. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery.
Which cities in Oregon have the most AI product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Portland is by far the primary hub for AI product engineer sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech companies, agency offices, and AI-focused startups. Hillsboro, home to Intel's largest U.S. campus, accounts for a significant share of engineering sponsorship petitions in the state. Beaverton and Corvallis, where Oregon State University's research activity supports industry partnerships, also generate sponsorship opportunities for product and AI engineering roles.
How to find ai product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, making it more targeted than general job searches for AI product engineer positions in Oregon. You can browse current openings filtered to Oregon and search by role to surface companies actively hiring international candidates. Pairing Migrate Mate with outreach to Oregon employers who have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications historically gives you the clearest picture of where sponsorship is realistic.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for AI product engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are set by the Department of Labor and reflect Portland metro and Hillsboro market rates, which are high relative to national averages given the influence of Intel and major tech employers in the region. Oregon State University and University of Oregon produce a steady pipeline of AI and computer science graduates, meaning some employers are accustomed to sponsoring OPT and CPT students who later transition to H-1B status. Oregon has no state income tax exemption relevant to visa holders, but its concentration of semiconductor and AI-adjacent industries supports strong long-term sponsorship patterns.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai product engineer jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
