Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for AI product engineers?
Several large Ohio-based employers have established H-1B visa sponsorship track records for technical roles, including JPMorgan Chase and Nationwide in Columbus, Progressive Insurance in Mayfield Village, and Sherwin-Williams for technology divisions. Healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and university-affiliated research institutions also hire AI product engineers and have sponsored work visas for international candidates in similar roles.
Which visa types are most common for AI product engineer roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for AI product engineers in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT extensions are frequently hired before transitioning to H-1B status through employer sponsorship.
Which cities in Ohio have the most AI product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's primary hub for AI product engineer sponsorship, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and retail technology companies. Cleveland follows, with strengths in healthcare AI and manufacturing technology. Cincinnati has a smaller but active market, particularly in consumer goods and logistics tech, with companies like Procter and Gamble running product and data engineering teams.
How to find ai product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify AI product engineer positions in Ohio without manually screening hundreds of postings. You can narrow results by state and role to surface relevant opportunities in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, focusing your search on employers with active sponsorship histories in technical product roles.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for AI product engineers pursuing visa sponsorship?
Ohio's lower cost of living compared to coastal tech hubs can affect prevailing wage benchmarks, which employers must meet when filing H-1B petitions through the Department of Labor. The state also benefits from strong university pipelines at Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati, which means many Ohio employers already have familiarity with OPT-to-H-1B transitions for engineering roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai product engineer jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
