Which companies sponsor visas for sales business development roles in Indiana?
Indianapolis-based employers including Eli Lilly, Salesforce, and Cummins have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for business development positions. Technology firms, medical device companies, and logistics organizations across Indiana regularly seek international candidates for client-facing and revenue-generating roles. Sponsorship is more common at larger enterprises than at small or mid-sized firms, where the cost and administrative burden of visa petitions can be a barrier.
Which visa types are most common for sales business development roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for sales and business development professionals, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline. Canadian and Mexican citizens may qualify for TN status under the USMCA if the role fits an eligible category. Australian citizens can explore the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation standard but operates outside the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Indiana have the most sales business development sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis concentrates the largest share of sponsorship-eligible roles, driven by its life sciences, technology, and financial services employers. Fort Wayne has a growing manufacturing and industrial sector where business development roles tied to B2B sales are common. Carmel, a suburban hub north of Indianapolis, hosts a number of corporate headquarters and regional offices that recruit internationally for sales and partnership roles.
How to find sales business development visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for sales and business development roles in Indiana without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas, which is particularly useful in a state where sponsorship is concentrated among larger life sciences, technology, and manufacturing companies rather than spread evenly across industries.
Are there any state-specific considerations for sales business development visa sponsorship in Indiana?
Indiana's employer base skews toward life sciences and advanced manufacturing, so business development roles here often require industry-specific knowledge rather than purely generalist sales experience. The Department of Labor sets prevailing wage requirements based on the specific metropolitan area, meaning wage thresholds differ between Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and smaller markets. Roles tied to technical products or regulated industries like pharmaceuticals tend to have a stronger case for specialty occupation classification, which affects H-1B eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales business development jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
