Search Sales Business Development Jobs in OregonSales Business Development Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for sales business development roles?
Portland-area technology companies, including software and SaaS firms in the Pearl District and Silicon Forest corridor, are among the most active sponsors. Large employers such as Nike, Intel, and Daimler Trucks North America have established international hiring programs. Mid-size B2B software companies headquartered in Portland also sponsor for business development representative and enterprise sales roles, particularly when candidates bring specialized market or language expertise.
Which visa types are most common for sales business development professionals in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales business development roles in Oregon, though it requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, typically involving strategic planning, market analysis, or enterprise account management tied to a relevant degree. The O-1A is an option for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in their field. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business roles under USMCA.
Which cities in Oregon have the most sales business development visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of visa-sponsored sales and business development positions in Oregon, particularly in the Pearl District, Lloyd District, and surrounding suburbs like Beaverton and Hillsboro. Eugene has a smaller but active market tied to University of Oregon partnerships and regional commercial sectors. Bend is an emerging hub with growing tech and outdoor industry companies occasionally hiring international candidates for business development functions.
How to find sales business development visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse sales and business development openings in Oregon without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces positions from Oregon employers actively filing H-1B and other work visa petitions for business development talent, saving significant research time compared to unfiltered searches. Filtering by Oregon state and the sales business development category gives you the most relevant results.
Are there state-specific considerations for sales business development visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific role and metro area, and Portland wages are benchmarked against the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metropolitan statistical area. Oregon's clean energy sector and its concentration of outdoor industry brands create niche business development opportunities not common in every state. Oregon's proximity to the California tech market also means some roles serve a Pacific Coast territory, which can strengthen the specialty occupation argument for H-1B petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales business development jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
