Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for software architects?
Several large Indiana employers have a consistent track record of sponsoring work visas for software architects, including Salesforce (Indianapolis hub), Eli Lilly, Anthem, Cummins, and Rolls-Royce. Major consulting firms with Indiana offices, such as Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services, also sponsor frequently. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data confirms which employers have filed for software architect roles specifically.
What visa types are most common for software architect roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software architects in Indiana, as the role meets the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3 visa. Canadians and Mexicans can explore the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA engineer category. L-1A and L-1B visas apply for intracompany transfers to Indiana offices.
Which Indiana cities have the most software architect visa sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of software architect sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of healthcare technology, financial services, and enterprise software companies. Bloomington has some presence through Indiana University-affiliated technology initiatives. West Lafayette sees hiring tied to Purdue University research commercialization. For most international candidates, Indianapolis is the primary target market in the state.
How to find software architect visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters job listings by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search software architect roles in Indiana without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers in Indianapolis and across the state that have an active history of H-1B and other work visa filings for technical roles, saving significant research time.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for software architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Indiana's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B roles are set against Indianapolis-area wage data, which generally reflects lower levels than coastal tech markets. This can make sponsorship more accessible for mid-sized Indiana employers who might otherwise find coastal wage floors prohibitive. Purdue and Indiana University produce a steady pipeline of international graduates who transition from OPT to H-1B sponsorship in the state, meaning local employers are generally familiar with the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software architect jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
