Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for technical product managers?
John Deere, Principal Financial Group, Corteva Agriscience, Collins Aerospace, and Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield are among Iowa employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories. Des Moines-based fintech and insurtech firms have been particularly active in sponsoring technical product managers, given the concentration of financial services and technology teams requiring cross-functional product leadership.
Which visa types are most common for technical product manager roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical product managers in Iowa, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. L-1B intracompany transfers are also used when candidates move from an overseas office to an Iowa-based employer such as John Deere or Collins Aerospace.
How to find technical product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search technical product manager roles in Iowa without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. Iowa's sponsoring employers are concentrated in Des Moines and the Corridor region, so setting those locations on Migrate Mate surfaces the most relevant opportunities in fintech, agtech, and insurance-adjacent product roles.
Which cities in Iowa have the most technical product manager sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines is Iowa's primary market for technical product manager sponsorship, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and technology companies. The Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Corridor is a secondary hub, with employers like Pearson and Transamerica maintaining product and technology teams there. Ames sees occasional openings tied to Iowa State University-affiliated technology ventures.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical product manager sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are determined by the Department of Labor using Occupational Employment Statistics data for the Des Moines or Cedar Rapids metro areas, which reflect local market rates rather than national figures. Iowa State University and the University of Iowa produce engineering and computer science graduates who enter the OPT pipeline, giving local employers familiarity with international candidate hiring processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical product manager jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
