Act as intermediary between market/business requirements and engineering/developers, advocating for the product internally to turn product vision into reality. Prevent roadblocks across teams to meet quality standards, project deadlines, and business objectives. Manage the long-term roadmap, marketing, implementation, partners, and other groups. Responsibilities
- Lead product development for technical products.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy.
- Develop and present product proposals, strategy, roadmaps, cost models, etc. to stakeholders.
- Align product vision with business goals/requirements.
- Manage product backlog and prioritize features based on user needs and business impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, licensing, legal, privacy, security, etc.) to ensure product success, etc.
- Possess clear understanding of license compliance for products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Technical Product Manager, III: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
- Proven ability to define and manage the life cycle for mid to complex technical products from conception to launch.
- Experience with product life cycle management (PLM) tools.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with the management of Microsoft/M365 products and voice services with a focus on product features/functionality and license compliance.
