Which companies sponsor visas for investment roles in Kansas?
Financial institutions and insurance companies are the most active sponsors for investment roles in Kansas. INTRUST Bank, Security Benefit, and Cargill's financial operations have histories of sponsoring international workers in finance-related positions. Larger corporations with treasury and investment functions, including Koch Industries affiliates based in Wichita, also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for finance and investment job titles.
Which visa types are most common for investment roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for investment professionals in Kansas, covering roles like financial analyst, portfolio analyst, and investment associate that require at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Candidates with advanced degrees may also pursue EB-2 or NIW pathways for permanent residency. Australians working in qualifying investment roles may be eligible for the E-3 visa.
Which cities in Kansas have the most investment sponsorship jobs?
Wichita and the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro area concentrate the most investment sponsorship opportunities in the state. Wichita's insurance and financial services sector, anchored by companies like Security Benefit and INTRUST Bank, generates consistent demand. The Overland Park and Lenexa corridors within the KC metro also host regional offices of national investment and financial services firms that have sponsored international employees.
How to find investment visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for investment roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by role type and state to surface financial analyst, investment associate, and related openings from Kansas employers actively hiring international candidates. Department of Labor LCA disclosure data can also confirm which employers have sponsored similar roles historically.
Are there state-specific considerations for investment professionals seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have state-level visa programs, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and employment-based processes entirely. Investment roles must qualify as specialty occupations, meaning the position must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like finance or economics. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University produce finance graduates who enter local employer pipelines, which means competition for entry-level sponsorship positions can be meaningful at firms that recruit from those institutions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored investment jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
