Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for product support engineers?
Garmin's global headquarters in Olathe regularly sponsors product support engineers, particularly for roles tied to navigation and aviation products. Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in North Kansas City has an established sponsorship track record for technical support roles. Wichita-based aerospace and manufacturing companies including Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation also hire product support engineers and have sponsored work visas for international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for product support engineer roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product support engineers in Kansas, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. Some employers also use the L-1B visa for intracompany transfers with specialized knowledge. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round.
Which cities in Kansas have the most product support engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, specifically Overland Park and Olathe on the Kansas side, accounts for the largest share of product support engineer sponsorship activity in the state. Garmin's Olathe campus alone drives significant technical hiring. Wichita represents the second-largest market, with aerospace and defense employers concentrated there. Lawrence and Manhattan have smaller but present tech hiring pipelines connected to the University of Kansas and Kansas State University.
How to find product support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find product support engineer roles in Kansas without manually screening every posting. You can search by state and role to surface employers in the Kansas City metro, Wichita, and Overland Park who have an active history of sponsoring international candidates for technical support positions. This saves significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered job boards.
Are there state-specific considerations for product support engineers seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific region and role. Wages in the Kansas City metro corridor tend to be higher than in smaller Kansas markets, which affects both the prevailing wage floor and what employers typically offer. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University generate a consistent pipeline of OPT candidates, meaning some Kansas employers already have established processes for hiring and sponsoring international engineers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product support engineer jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
