Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for professional services engineers?
Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in North Kansas City has a long track record of H-1B sponsorship for technical roles including professional services engineers. Garmin's Olathe headquarters and T-Mobile's regional offices are also known sponsors. In Wichita, aerospace firms like Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation occasionally sponsor engineering talent, though professional services roles there are less common than in the Kansas City metro.
Which visa types are most common for professional services engineer roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for professional services engineers in Kansas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates already holding L-1B intracompany transferee status or those on OPT/STEM OPT also fill these roles, particularly at larger enterprise technology employers in the Kansas City metro.
Which cities in Kansas have the most professional services engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, including Overland Park, Olathe, and Lenexa on the Kansas side of the state line, accounts for the majority of professional services engineer openings with visa sponsorship. This corridor hosts the densest concentration of enterprise technology companies and IT consultancies in the state. Wichita is a secondary market, driven primarily by aerospace and manufacturing rather than software implementation roles.
How to find professional services engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search for professional services engineer roles in Kansas without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from employers with active sponsorship histories in the state, including enterprise technology firms in the Kansas City corridor. Filtering by location and role type on Migrate Mate narrows results to the Kansas market directly.
Are there any state-specific considerations for professional services engineers seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not impose state-level restrictions on visa sponsorship, but prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program apply based on the specific metro area. Rates for professional services engineers in the Kansas City metro differ from those in Wichita due to regional wage survey differences. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University produce graduates who sometimes transition into local professional services roles, creating pipeline competition that can influence how urgently employers pursue sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored professional services engineer jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
