Which companies sponsor visas for professional services engineers in Tennessee?
Tennessee employers that have sponsored H-1B visas for technical and professional services roles include Asurion in Nashville, HCA Healthcare, Deloitte's regional offices, and technology consultancies serving the state's healthcare and logistics industries. Enterprise software vendors with Tennessee client bases also hire professional services engineers and have documented sponsorship histories through Department of Labor LCA filings.
Which visa types are most common for professional services engineer roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for professional services engineers in Tennessee, given the role's requirement for a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or engineering. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can work while pursuing sponsorship. The L-1B intracompany transfer is another pathway for engineers moving from a foreign affiliate of a multinational firm with Tennessee operations.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most professional services engineer sponsorship jobs?
Nashville accounts for the largest share of professional services engineer roles in Tennessee, driven by its concentration of healthcare IT companies, SaaS vendors, and consulting firms. Memphis is a secondary hub, particularly for logistics technology employers. Knoxville sees demand connected to Oak Ridge National Laboratory's technology ecosystem and regional enterprise software firms, though sponsorship activity there is less frequent than in Nashville.
How to find professional services engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify professional services engineer positions in Tennessee without sorting through companies that don't sponsor. You can browse by state and role to surface relevant openings at Nashville-based healthcare tech firms, Memphis logistics companies, and regional consulting practices that have active sponsorship programs.
Are there any state-specific considerations for professional services engineers seeking sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which can be relevant context when evaluating total compensation packages, though prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are set at the federal level using Bureau of Labor Statistics data for each metro area. Nashville and Memphis are classified separately for prevailing wage purposes, so an employer's LCA must reflect the wage level for the specific metropolitan statistical area where you'll primarily work.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored professional services engineer jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
