Which companies sponsor visas for professional services engineers in Massachusetts?
Boston-area technology companies are among the most active sponsors for professional services engineer roles in Massachusetts. Employers like Akamai, HubSpot, Wayfair, PTC, and Veeva Systems have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in technical customer-facing roles. Enterprise software vendors and cloud infrastructure companies headquartered in the Route 128 corridor also regularly file LCAs for professional services engineers.
Which visa types are most common for professional services engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for professional services engineer positions in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extensions frequently transition into H-1B sponsorship through Massachusetts employers.
How to find professional services engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for professional services engineer roles in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can narrow results to Massachusetts employers and see which companies are actively hiring internationally sponsored candidates in this role rather than applying broadly and discovering sponsorship restrictions later.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most professional services engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest concentration of professional services engineer sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts, driven by the density of enterprise SaaS, cloud, and cybersecurity companies in those areas. Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 technology corridor are also significant hiring centers, particularly for established software companies with formal international hiring programs.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for professional services engineers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a high prevailing wage tier for technology roles, which means employers sponsoring H-1B professional services engineers must meet elevated wage requirements set by the Department of Labor for the Boston metropolitan area. The state's concentration of universities including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern also creates a steady pipeline of F-1 graduates already in Massachusetts who transition to employer-sponsored status in professional services engineering roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored professional services engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
