Which companies sponsor visas for professional services engineers in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation and Fiserv are among the most active H-1B sponsors in Wisconsin for technical engineering roles. Epic Systems in Verona and Exact Sciences in Madison also have documented sponsorship histories. Smaller managed services and SaaS firms in the Fox Valley region occasionally sponsor as well, though volume is lower. Checking DOL LCA disclosure data confirms which employers have filed recently for these specific roles.
Which visa types are most common for professional services engineer roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for professional services engineers in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field. L-1B intracompany transfers are also used when candidates move from an overseas office of a multinational like Rockwell Automation or Fiserv. TN visa status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications under USMCA.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most professional services engineer sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee has the highest concentration of professional services engineer sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its financial technology and industrial automation sectors. Madison is a close second, anchored by Epic Systems and a growing cluster of software and health IT companies. Green Bay and Appleton in the Fox Valley see more limited but consistent demand, particularly from manufacturing technology and enterprise software employers serving the region.
How to find professional services engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters professional services engineer roles in Wisconsin by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sorting through listings that won't support your work authorization. The platform surfaces employers with documented H-1B and other sponsorship histories, which is especially useful for targeting Wisconsin's stronger markets in Milwaukee and Madison without wading through irrelevant postings.
Are there any state-specific considerations for professional services engineers seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not have a state-level work visa program, so federal H-1B prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor apply to all sponsoring employers statewide. The Milwaukee and Madison metro areas carry higher prevailing wage levels than rural Wisconsin counties, which affects how employers structure offers. University of Wisconsin-Madison's strong engineering and computer science programs also create a local talent pipeline that some employers tap before looking internationally, so demonstrating specialized experience is important.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored professional services engineer jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
