Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in Kentucky?
The largest sponsors in Kentucky tend to be integrated health systems with high patient volumes and active international recruiting pipelines. Norton Healthcare and Baptist Health in Louisville, UK HealthCare in Lexington, and Appalachian Regional Healthcare in eastern Kentucky have all sponsored clinical and allied health roles. Federally Qualified Health Centers operating across rural Kentucky also hire clinical medical assistants and may support work visa sponsorship given persistent staffing shortages.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B visa applies when a clinical medical assistant role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is not always the case for this title. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying medical technician categories. The EB-3 employment-based green card pathway is used by some Kentucky health systems for in-demand clinical support staff when direct H-1B qualification is uncertain.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Louisville has the highest concentration, anchored by Norton Healthcare, Baptist Health, and a dense network of outpatient clinics and specialty practices. Lexington is the second-largest market, driven by UK HealthCare and affiliated community health centers. Bowling Green is a growing hub as Southern Kentucky healthcare infrastructure expands. Smaller cities like Owensboro and Paducah also have regional medical centers that occasionally sponsor qualified clinical staff.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate aggregates visa sponsorship jobs for clinical medical assistants in Kentucky, filtering listings by sponsorship availability so you are not sorting through roles that won't support your visa. Search the Kentucky clinical medical assistant category on Migrate Mate and filter by health system, city, or visa type. This is more efficient than reviewing general job boards where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
What should international clinical medical assistants know about working in Kentucky specifically?
Kentucky requires clinical medical assistants to work under direct physician or licensed provider supervision, which affects how roles are structured and how job duties are described in visa petitions. The state has active CMA credentialing expectations, and many Kentucky employers prefer candidates with AAMA or NHA certification. Kentucky's relatively lower cost of living compared to coastal states means prevailing wage requirements may differ from national benchmarks, which affects how employers structure compensation for sponsored positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
