Which companies sponsor visas for business operations managers in Massachusetts?
Large employers with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories in Massachusetts include Biogen, Takeda, HubSpot, Fidelity Investments, State Street, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Boston's dense cluster of biotech and financial services firms accounts for a significant share of operations-focused sponsorships in the state. Consulting firms with Massachusetts offices, including Bain and McKinsey, also sponsor for senior operations roles periodically.
Which visa types are most common for business operations manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business operations managers in Massachusetts, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field. L-1B and L-1A visas are also used for intracompany transfers into operations leadership. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa category if the role meets the management analyst criteria.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most business operations manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the majority of sponsored business operations manager roles in Massachusetts, driven by their concentration of biotech, finance, and technology employers. Waltham and Lexington along the Route 128 corridor are also active, particularly for life sciences and defense-adjacent operations roles. Worcester has a smaller but growing presence tied to its healthcare and higher education sectors.
How to find business operations manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate lists business operations manager roles in Massachusetts that are open to visa sponsorship, filtered so you are not sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. The platform focuses specifically on employers with documented sponsorship activity, which is particularly useful in Massachusetts where large biotech and financial services firms sponsor regularly but smaller employers often do not. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate narrows results to relevant opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for business operations manager sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions for business operations managers must meet the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role in the Boston-Cambridge metropolitan area, which is among the higher prevailing wage zones in the country. The state's strong university pipeline from schools like MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern also means employer familiarity with OPT and STEM OPT transitions is relatively high, making the path from student status to sponsored employment more established here than in many other states.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business operations manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
