Which companies sponsor visas for business operations managers in New York?
Large financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley are among the most consistent sponsors for business operations manager roles in New York. Major technology employers including Google, Amazon, and Meta also have substantial New York operations and file sponsorship petitions for operations leadership positions. Consulting firms such as Deloitte and McKinsey, which maintain significant New York offices, similarly sponsor qualified candidates for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for business operations manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business operations managers in New York, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as business administration, management, or a closely aligned discipline. Australian citizens may pursue the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process without the lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying management categories may be eligible for TN status. L-1 transfers are also used when candidates are moving from a foreign affiliated office of a U.S. employer.
Which cities in New York have the most business operations manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City, and Manhattan in particular, accounts for the overwhelming majority of business operations manager sponsorship positions in the state. The Midtown and Flatiron corridors concentrate financial services and technology employers that hire most frequently for this role. Buffalo and Albany see a smaller share of sponsored positions, primarily from healthcare systems, state-affiliated organizations, and regional financial institutions, but sponsorship activity there is considerably lower than in New York City.
How to find business operations manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States, including business operations manager roles in New York. You can filter directly by state and role to see employers actively hiring for sponsored positions. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on sponsorship-eligible listings, which removes the guesswork of identifying which New York employers are open to supporting a visa petition for operations management candidates.
Are there any state-specific considerations for business operations managers seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York State's prevailing wage requirements, set by the Department of Labor, apply to H-1B petitions filed for positions in the state, and employers must certify that the offered compensation meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for the specific role and location. New York City's high cost of living means prevailing wages for business operations manager positions are among the highest in the country. Candidates from universities such as NYU, Columbia, and Cornell who have worked in New York on OPT may also find it easier to transition to H-1B sponsorship with employers already familiar with their work.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business operations manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
