Which companies sponsor visas for cloud software engineers in Massachusetts?
Amazon Web Services, Akamai Technologies, HubSpot, Wayfair, Liberty Mutual, and Fidelity Investments are among the Massachusetts employers with established records of sponsoring cloud software engineers. Boston's biotech and life sciences sector, including Biogen and Moderna, also hires cloud engineers and has sponsored work visas for international candidates in infrastructure and platform roles.
Which visa types are most common for cloud software engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for cloud software engineers in Massachusetts. Cloud engineering roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. Australian citizens may also be eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the software engineer category.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most cloud software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of cloud software engineer sponsorship roles in Massachusetts, particularly in the Seaport, Back Bay, and Kendall Square areas. The Route 128 corridor, including Waltham, Burlington, and Woburn, hosts a significant concentration of technology and enterprise software companies that regularly sponsor cloud engineers. Worcester is a smaller but growing secondary market.
How to find cloud software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters cloud software engineer roles in Massachusetts by visa sponsorship eligibility. Rather than sorting through thousands of postings manually, you can browse verified sponsoring employers in the Boston area and across the Route 128 corridor. Migrate Mate also surfaces roles by visa type, helping you match your specific work authorization situation to relevant openings.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for cloud software engineers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has one of the highest prevailing wage levels for cloud software engineers in the country, which affects the wage requirements employers must meet when filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications with the Department of Labor. The state's strong university pipeline, including MIT, Boston University, and Northeastern, means many employers already have established sponsorship processes. Northeastern's cooperative education program also creates pathways that familiarize local employers with OPT and STEM OPT work authorization.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud software engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
