Which finance companies in Massachusetts have sponsored F-1 STEM OPT workers?
State Street, Fidelity Investments, Wellington Management, and Liberty Mutual are among the Massachusetts-based finance employers with documented histories of sponsoring work visas for quantitative and analytical roles. Larger asset managers and custody banks in the Boston area tend to file Labor Condition Applications regularly for data-intensive finance positions, which overlap heavily with STEM OPT-eligible job categories.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most finance F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Boston is the dominant hub, with the Financial District, Back Bay, and the Seaport neighborhood hosting the densest concentration of finance employers. Cambridge draws fintech and quantitative firms, often linked to MIT and Harvard research networks. Waltham and Burlington have secondary clusters of financial services and insurance technology companies that recruit STEM OPT candidates for analytics and modeling roles.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Roles that qualify must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to the student's degree. In finance, this commonly includes quantitative analyst, financial data scientist, risk analyst, algorithmic trading researcher, and actuarial analyst positions, particularly when the role requires applied mathematics, statistics, or computer science. General business or client-facing sales roles rarely meet the STEM degree-connection requirement.
How do I find finance F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and state, so you can search for finance roles in Massachusetts that have verified F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history rather than guessing from generic postings. Filtering by employers with active Labor Condition Application filings in financial services narrows results to companies that have already navigated the sponsorship process for comparable roles.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT finance candidates?
Massachusetts finance employers are generally familiar with STEM OPT authorization because Boston-area universities produce a large volume of international graduates in quantitative disciplines. However, candidates should confirm that their specific degree program carries a STEM CIP code recognized by their DSO, and that the job offer ties directly to that field of study. Some employers in regulated financial roles may also require E-Verify enrollment as part of the STEM OPT extension process.
