Which companies sponsor visas for finance analysts in Massachusetts?
Several large employers in Massachusetts have established records of sponsoring finance analysts. Fidelity Investments, State Street, Wellington Management, and Liberty Mutual are among the most active sponsors in the state. Beyond traditional financial firms, Massachusetts-based biotech and life sciences companies such as Biogen and Moderna also hire finance analysts and have sponsored work visas for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for finance analysts in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for finance analyst roles in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible under the TN visa category. Some candidates already authorized through OPT or STEM OPT also secure sponsorship through this route.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most finance analyst sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the majority of finance analyst sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by its concentration of asset management firms, banks, and insurance companies in the Financial District and Back Bay. Cambridge sees demand from biotech and venture-backed firms. Waltham and Burlington, along the Route 128 technology corridor, also host corporate finance and FP&A roles at technology and healthcare companies that sponsor international workers.
How to find finance analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter finance analyst roles in Massachusetts by visa sponsorship availability, so you're only seeing employers willing to sponsor. Roles are tagged by visa type, making it straightforward to identify H-1B or E-3 visa eligible positions. Given Boston's competitive hiring market, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for new Massachusetts finance analyst listings can help you move quickly on relevant openings.
Are there any state-specific considerations for finance analysts pursuing visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers sponsoring H-1B finance analysts must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the Boston metropolitan statistical area, which tends to be higher than national averages given the city's cost of living. The state's strong university pipeline from schools like MIT, Harvard, and Boston University means sponsoring employers are familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions. Finance analysts in investment advisory roles may also need to consider FINRA licensing requirements independent of their visa status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
