Which companies sponsor visas for healthcare assistants in Massachusetts?
The largest sponsors for healthcare assistant roles in Massachusetts include Mass General Brigham, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, UMass Memorial Health, and Baystate Health. These health systems have established immigration support processes and regularly file work visa petitions for clinical support staff. Community health centers in the Greater Boston area also sponsor, though less frequently than major academic medical centers.
Which visa types are most common for healthcare assistant roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for healthcare assistants whose roles qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare classifications. Some healthcare assistants enter on J-1 exchange visitor programs through hospital-affiliated training programs. Eligibility depends on the specific duties, required credentials, and the employer's legal assessment of the role.
How to find healthcare assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find healthcare assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts. The platform filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus on Massachusetts employers who are actively open to sponsoring international candidates rather than sorting through listings that don't address immigration support at all. Filtering by role and state surfaces relevant openings at health systems across Boston, Worcester, and beyond.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most healthcare assistant sponsorship jobs?
Boston has the highest concentration of healthcare assistant sponsorship opportunities, driven by its cluster of academic medical centers and teaching hospitals in the Longwood Medical Area. Worcester is the next largest market, anchored by UMass Memorial Medical Center. Springfield, with Baystate Health as the regional anchor, and Lowell, which hosts several community health centers, also see regular sponsorship activity for clinical support roles.
Are there any state-specific considerations for healthcare assistants seeking visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts requires healthcare assistants to meet state-specific certification and background check requirements, which employers factor into their hiring timelines for sponsored candidates. The state's high volume of academic medical centers creates a pipeline from programs at Harvard, Tufts, and UMass into entry-level clinical roles. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are calculated based on Massachusetts wage data, which tends to reflect the state's higher cost of living compared to national averages.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored healthcare assistant jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
