You will also drive the realization of that strategy by working with colleagues to define and continuously refine the approach through which cross-functional teams will execute on enterprise-wide “lighthouse programs” (i.e., opportunities for deep and focused impact leveraging emerging technology) tied to MassMutual’s top strategic business priorities. In addition, you will lead the creation of content (i.e., slide decks, bespoke analyses, etc.) for meetings with our Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and other senior stakeholders to update them on program progress and/or answer strategic questions related to these efforts. Given all of MassMutual’s technical delivery capabilities within these emerging technology domains sit within R&D, the team has recently been in “growth mode” with a particular focus on building out our technical talent in generative and agentic AI and our strategy and transformation talent as part of a newly established “Strategy & Partnerships” team.
The recently established Strategy & Partnerships team within R&D is responsible for partnering with the most senior leaders across MassMutual to develop a holistic strategy for deploying our R&D capabilities toward the most impactful business outcomes and strategic priorities across the enterprise.
The Strategy & Partnerships team is comprised of a team of Product Owners that are aligned to MassMutual business areas and a central Program Leadership office responsible for defining the overall transformation approach and strategy. This role would be part of the Program Leadership office and report into the Head of AIStrategy.
Culturally, we look for individuals with a strong inclination for learning and from a variety of backgrounds who challenge each other openly, regardless of level or role on the team. We operate using a top-down, hypothesis-driven problem-solving approach grounded in strong conceptual thinking / problem structuring skills and deep data analysis. We embrace diversity in all of its forms, require respect, expect consistent delivery of high-quality products and look to have fun.
The Impact
MassMutual, and our industry at-large, are at a pivotal time as emerging technology such as generative and agentic AI are fundamentally transforming how we operate and deliver value to our customers, financial professionals, and employees. If we are successful, we will not only be transforming MassMutual; we will also be transforming and setting an example for the rest of our industry.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced strategy and transformation leaders to define and continuously refine our transformation approach and strategy for delivering on the highest impact, most strategically important cross-enterprise efforts that leverage AI and other emerging technologies
- Lead content creation (i.e., slide decks, bespoke analyses, etc.) for meetings with our Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and other senior stakeholders to update them on program progress and/or answer strategic questions related to our efforts

- Foster intellectual curiosity and creative thinking in stakeholders, business partners and colleagues

Which companies sponsor visas for strategy associates in Massachusetts?
Boston-based consulting firms including Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and McKinsey & Company have established track records of sponsoring H-1B visas for strategy associates. Financial institutions such as Fidelity Investments and State Street also sponsor regularly, as do healthcare and life sciences companies like Biogen and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, which maintain in-house strategy functions in the Greater Boston area.
Which visa types are most common for strategy associate roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy associates in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3, Canadians and Mexicans the TN visa under the USMCA, and those with extraordinary ability may qualify for an O-1. F-1 OPT is a common bridge for recent graduates.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most strategy associate sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the largest share of strategy associate sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by its concentration of consulting firms, asset managers, and financial services companies. Cambridge is a secondary hub, particularly for strategy roles within biotech and technology companies. Waltham and Lexington along the Route 128 corridor also have notable demand from corporate strategy teams at pharmaceutical and technology firms.
How to find strategy associate visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters strategy associate jobs specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search Massachusetts roles without manually vetting each employer's sponsorship history. The platform surfaces positions from consulting, finance, and life sciences employers across Boston, Cambridge, and surrounding areas. For strategy associate candidates on OPT or seeking H-1B sponsorship, Migrate Mate narrows the field to employers who have actively sponsored in this role category.
Are there state-specific factors that affect strategy associate visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has one of the highest concentrations of H-1B-dependent employers in professional services and life sciences, which can affect prevailing wage obligations and sponsorship timelines. The state's proximity to Harvard, MIT, and top MBA programs creates a deep international candidate pipeline, meaning many Boston-area employers have well-developed sponsorship processes. However, sponsorship decisions remain employer-specific and are not guaranteed by industry or location alone.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy associate jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
