Which companies in Michigan sponsor visas for sales specialist roles?
Large Michigan employers with a track record of H-1B visa sponsorship for sales-related positions include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, Stryker, and Dow Chemical. Technology firms and manufacturing suppliers operating out of Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Midland also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for sales specialist and account management roles.
Which visa types are most common for sales specialist jobs in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales specialist roles in Michigan, particularly for positions requiring a degree in business, marketing, or a technical field tied to the product being sold. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian or Mexican nationals can explore TN visa status under the USMCA, provided the role meets specialty occupation criteria.
Which cities in Michigan have the most sales specialist sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its metro area generate the highest volume of sponsored sales specialist roles in Michigan, driven by the automotive and advanced manufacturing industries. Grand Rapids is a secondary hub with strong activity in medical devices and life sciences, particularly around companies like Stryker and Perrigo. Ann Arbor attracts technology and software sales roles tied to its university and startup ecosystem.
How to find sales specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for sales specialist roles in Michigan without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from employers with documented sponsorship activity, covering sectors from automotive and manufacturing to healthcare and technology across Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Ann Arbor.
Are there state-specific considerations for sales specialist visa sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan's concentration in automotive and industrial manufacturing means many sponsored sales specialist roles require technical product knowledge, and employers may expect candidates to hold degrees in engineering, business, or a related field to satisfy H-1B specialty occupation requirements. The University of Michigan and Michigan State University also produce international graduates who enter sales roles through OPT before transitioning to employer-sponsored status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales specialist jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
