Sitting at the center of our marketing team in Armada, MI, this person will own the social calendar end-to-end—setting strategy, briefing creative, scheduling and publishing across platforms, engaging our community, and reporting on performance. The Social Media Marketing Manager will partner closely with a dedicated Content Creator who drives the bulk of photo, video, and Reel production, but should also be confident jumping behind the camera to capture and post content in real time when the moment calls for it. The right candidate is a strategic, trend-savvy operator who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment and can translate cultural moments into measurable social growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Social Strategy: Develop, document, and execute the social media strategy across all Blake’s brand accounts, aligned to overall marketing campaigns, seasonal moments, and business goals.
- Build & Manage the Calendar: Maintain a forward-looking, multi-platform content calendar; plan content in advance, batch where possible, and adapt in real time for cultural and brand moments.
- Press Publish: Manage daily publishing across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging platforms—including captions, keywords, and hashtag strategies aligned to SEO and content performance goals.
- Lead Community Management: Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, mentions, and tags daily across all accounts, maintaining brand voice and turning interactions into loyalty.
- Partner with the Content Creator: Brief the Content Creator on shot lists, priorities, and creative direction so produced content maps back to the social strategy and calendar.
- Create When Needed: Capture, edit, and post your own photos, videos, and Reels in real time at events, in tasting rooms, and on the orchard—especially for spontaneous, trend-driven, or in-the-moment storytelling.
- Stay Trend-Obsessed: Track social trends, platform updates, audio, and cultural moments daily; translate them into actionable content opportunities for our brands.
- Measure & Optimize: Own KPIs and reporting—track engagement, reach, follower growth, and conversion; deliver weekly insights and use data to continuously refine strategy.
- Influencer & Partnerships: Identify, vet, and coordinate with influencers, creators, and partners to extend brand reach; manage outreach, deliverables, and on-site logistics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing Director, retail, tasting room, and events teams to support launches, campaigns, and promotions.
- Event Coverage: Attend and provide live social coverage of major Blake’s events, festivals, and brand moments throughout the year.
- Multi-Channel Management: We currently have 4 brands this position manages across multiple platforms. The pages and platforms have potential to increase with the business growth.

- Deep, current expertise across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook—platform mechanics, algorithm trends, formats, and best practices.
- Proven ability to grow audiences and engagement, supported by examples and metrics from prior roles.
- Strong copywriting and brand voice skills—able to write captions and respond to community messages that feel native to each platform and on-brand.
- Comfortable shooting and editing photo, video, and Reels on a phone (CapCut, Reels editor, Lightroom Mobile, or similar) for fast-turn social posting.
- Hands-on experience with social management and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, or similar).
- Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple brand calendars at once without dropping balls.

Which companies in Michigan sponsor visas for social media marketing roles?
Michigan's largest visa sponsors for marketing roles include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, Henry Ford Health, and Rocket Companies in Detroit. University of Michigan and Michigan State University also hire international marketing professionals. Grand Rapids-based firms in healthcare and manufacturing, including Spectrum Health and Meijer, have sponsored marketing positions, though sponsorship availability varies by role and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for social media marketing jobs in Michigan?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for social media marketing roles in Michigan, as positions requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field typically qualify as specialty occupations. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN visa status under the marketing professional category, which does not require lottery selection.
Which cities in Michigan have the most social media marketing sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its suburbs, including Dearborn, Troy, and Southfield, concentrate the largest share of sponsored marketing roles due to the automotive and financial services industries headquartered there. Ann Arbor follows, driven by the University of Michigan and its affiliated tech and healthcare employers. Grand Rapids is emerging as a secondary market, particularly within healthcare, retail, and consumer goods companies seeking digital marketing talent.
How to find social media marketing visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters social media marketing roles in Michigan by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Search by role type and location to surface content strategist, paid social, and brand management positions at Michigan companies with a documented history of sponsoring international hires.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for international social media marketing candidates?
Michigan's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B social media marketing roles are benchmarked against Detroit and Grand Rapids metro rates through the Department of Labor, so employers must offer wages meeting the area's wage level for the specific job title. Michigan's heavy industry concentration means many marketing roles are tied to automotive or healthcare sectors, where demonstrating niche B2B or regulated-industry content experience strengthens a candidate's sponsorship case.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored social media marketing jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
