Which companies sponsor visas for social media marketers in North Carolina?
Red Ventures in Charlotte, Lowe's Companies in Mooresville, and Bank of America have sponsored international workers for digital and social media marketing roles in North Carolina. Technology firms in the Research Triangle, including those based in Raleigh and Durham, have also filed Labor Condition Applications for marketing positions. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle, so direct outreach and verified job postings are the most reliable indicators.
Which visa types are most common for social media marketing roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for social media marketing roles in North Carolina, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as marketing, communications, or digital media. Some roles at multinational companies may qualify for L-1 visa intracompany transfers. Australians may also have access to the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation standard but bypasses the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most social media marketing sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads North Carolina for social media marketing sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of large financial services, retail, and media companies with established international hiring programs. The Research Triangle, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is the second major hub, particularly for tech-adjacent and SaaS-focused marketing roles. Greensboro and Winston-Salem have smaller but active marketing sectors tied to healthcare and consumer goods employers.
How to find social media marketing visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters social media marketing roles in North Carolina by visa sponsorship history, so you're only seeing employers who have demonstrably sponsored before. Rather than sifting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship willingness, Migrate Mate surfaces verified opportunities in Charlotte, Raleigh, and beyond. Creating a profile and setting location filters to North Carolina narrows results to the most relevant active postings.
What should international social media marketers know about working in North Carolina specifically?
North Carolina's Department of Commerce designates the Research Triangle as a major innovation hub, which means marketing roles at tech and life sciences firms there often require demonstrable platform expertise, analytics proficiency, and content strategy skills that support the specialty occupation standard H-1B petitions require. UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, and NC State produce marketing graduates who compete for the same roles, so international candidates with niche platform certifications or B2B marketing experience tend to stand out to sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored social media marketing jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
