Which companies sponsor visas for social media marketers in Ohio?
Large Ohio-headquartered employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories include Nationwide Insurance, Huntington Bancshares, and Progressive Insurance in Columbus and Cleveland. Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati sponsors marketing roles as well. Major healthcare systems such as Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth also maintain marketing departments that have filed sponsorship petitions, though availability varies by year and role.
Which visa types are most common for social media marketing roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for social media marketing positions in Ohio, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field and employer sponsorship through the annual lottery. Candidates already holding F-1 OPT or STEM OPT authorization can work for Ohio employers before a full H-1B petition is filed. The O-1A is an option for marketers with demonstrable recognition in their field.
Which cities in Ohio have the most social media marketing sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's primary hub for sponsored social media marketing roles, anchored by its concentration of insurance, finance, and retail headquarters alongside a large university presence. Cleveland follows, with healthcare and financial services employers driving demand. Cincinnati is notable for consumer goods marketing, particularly around Procter & Gamble's campus. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron have fewer opportunities but occasional openings.
How to find social media marketing visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters social media marketing roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from manually screening job postings. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories in the state, which is particularly useful in a market like Ohio where sponsorship is common among large corporates but less frequent at smaller agencies.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for social media marketing visa sponsorship?
Ohio's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations apply to H-1B petitions, and social media marketing roles are generally classified under marketing specialist or market research analyst occupational codes, which affects the wage level an employer must certify. Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati produce a pipeline of OPT-eligible marketing graduates, making Ohio employers relatively familiar with the sponsorship process compared to states with smaller international student populations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored social media marketing jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
