Job Description
Baker Tilly is looking for a GAAP Compilation Senior Consultant to join our Public Sector group, which serves the advisory and accounting needs of state and local governments as well as special purpose governments across the United States. This includes counties, boroughs, cities, villages, townships, schools, utilities, districts, agencies, and other entities. In this position you will:
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day activities of U.S. GAAP compilations and reporting, agreed upon procedures, and special projects.
- Identify accounting, financial statement, and reporting issues, based on professional guidelines including U.S. GAAP.
- Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based upon knowledge gained relative to the client’s operations, processes, and business objectives.
- Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service.
- Supervise and lead the staff through counsel, guidance and coaching. Evaluate performance on client engagements.
- Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally.
- Assist with recruiting activities to include campus recruiting along with referring experienced individuals to the firm and participating in the firm's Employee Referral Bonus Program.
- Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
- Travel is limited but may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Master’s Degree or other advanced degree desired.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience providing attest services in a professional services firm.
- Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Public Company Oversight Board (PCAOB) Auditing Standards.
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of communication, public speaking, client service, relationship building, personal development, collaboration, and problem solving along with initiative, adaptability and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills.
The pay range for this position is $78,500 to $126,400. This range represents a good-faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation the firm expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of relevant factors, including an applicant’s skills, experience, qualifications, professional certifications, work arrangements, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Baker Tilly offers a compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
