Which companies sponsor visas for full stack engineers in Missouri?
World Wide Technology in St. Louis, Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City, and Mastercard's St. Louis technology hub are among Missouri's more active sponsors for full stack engineering roles. Mid-sized fintech and healthcare IT firms also file H-1B visa petitions regularly. Sponsorship activity varies by year and hiring need, so verifying recent LCA filings through the Department of Labor's public disclosure data is the most reliable approach.
Which visa types are most common for full stack engineer roles in Missouri?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for full stack engineers in Missouri, as software development roles typically meet the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1 visa transfers from a multinational employer or O-1 visa status for those with demonstrated exceptional ability may also find opportunities. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying software roles.
Which cities in Missouri have the most full stack engineer sponsorship jobs?
St. Louis and Kansas City account for the large majority of full stack engineer visa sponsorship activity in Missouri. St. Louis draws demand from enterprise technology firms, financial services companies, and healthcare organizations headquartered in the region. Kansas City has a growing technology sector anchored by healthcare IT, logistics technology, and financial services employers. Smaller markets like Springfield have limited sponsorship activity by comparison.
How to find full stack engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for full stack engineer positions in Missouri without sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings in St. Louis, Kansas City, and other Missouri markets, saving significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered job listings manually.
Are there state-specific considerations for full stack engineers pursuing sponsorship in Missouri?
Missouri does not have state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal rules, but the prevailing wage for full stack engineers differs between the St. Louis and Kansas City metro areas, which affects what employers must pay H-1B workers under Department of Labor regulations. Missouri's university system, including Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Missouri, produces engineering graduates who may have existing OPT authorization, which some employers factor into their hiring timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored full stack engineer jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
