Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in Nebraska?
Kiewit Corporation, one of the largest construction and engineering firms in North America, is headquartered in Omaha and has a documented history of sponsoring skilled workers for project management roles. Other Nebraska-based employers with sponsorship activity include Hausmann Construction and Investors Realty. Larger national general contractors operating project sites in Nebraska, such as Turner Construction and Hensel Phelps, also sponsor H-1B workers for qualified roles.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for construction project managers, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related field. The employer must demonstrate the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens with qualifying degrees. The L-1A intracompany transferee visa applies if the candidate is moving from an affiliated international office of the same company.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the largest share of construction project manager hiring in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare construction projects, and ongoing commercial development. Lincoln, the state capital, is the second-largest market, with activity around university campus expansions and government infrastructure work. Smaller cities like Grand Island and Kearney see periodic project-based hiring tied to industrial and transportation infrastructure along the Interstate 80 corridor.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters construction project manager roles in Nebraska by visa sponsorship willingness, saving you the effort of screening out employers who won't sponsor. You can search by role and state to find positions with Omaha- and Lincoln-based contractors and engineering firms. Because sponsorship availability is not always advertised, using a specialized platform like Migrate Mate gives you a more targeted starting point than general job searches.
Are there prevailing wage or licensing requirements for construction project managers in Nebraska that affect visa sponsorship?
H-1B petitions for construction project manager roles require the employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for that occupation in the specific Nebraska metropolitan area. Nebraska does not require a separate state contractor license for project managers who are not performing licensed trade work, but some employers seek candidates with PMP certification or an engineer-in-training credential, which can strengthen a specialty occupation argument during USCIS adjudication.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
