Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in Georgia?
Several large general contractors and construction management firms operating in Georgia have sponsored visas for construction project managers, including Brasfield and Gorrie, Turner Construction, Skanska, and Hensel Phelps. These firms manage large-scale commercial, infrastructure, and institutional projects across the state and have the HR infrastructure to support H-1B visa and other work visa petitions for qualified candidates.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for construction project managers in Georgia, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may pursue TN visa status under the USMCA. EB-3 immigrant visas are also used by some employers for permanent sponsorship of experienced project managers.
Which cities in Georgia have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta concentrates the majority of construction project manager opportunities in Georgia, driven by ongoing commercial real estate development, infrastructure investment, and data center construction across the metro area. Savannah is a secondary hub with growth tied to its port expansion and industrial development. Augusta and Columbus also see activity connected to government, healthcare, and military-adjacent construction projects.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters construction project manager roles in Georgia by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving significant research time. Rather than sifting through general job listings, you can browse Georgia-specific openings from employers who have sponsored construction and engineering professionals before, giving you a clearer signal of which companies are genuinely open to international candidates in this role.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for construction project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Georgia's construction market is influenced heavily by Atlanta's status as a major commercial hub and Savannah's role as one of the fastest-growing ports in the U.S., both of which generate sustained demand for project management talent. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role in the specific Georgia metro area, which varies between Atlanta, Savannah, and smaller markets. Degree verification and professional credentials are closely reviewed during the specialty occupation determination.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
