Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in Utah?
Utah-based general contractors and construction firms with documented H-1B sponsorship histories include Layton Construction, Big-D Construction, Okland Construction, and Jacobsen Construction. Larger national firms operating Utah projects, such as Hensel Phelps and Kiewit, have also sponsored construction management roles. Sponsorship activity is most common at mid-to-large firms managing commercial, healthcare, and infrastructure projects across the Wasatch Front.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for construction project managers in Utah, since the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated exceptional achievement. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose credentials meet the applicable professional criteria under the USMCA.
Which cities in Utah have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City is Utah's primary hub for sponsored construction project manager roles, supported by a dense concentration of general contractors, developers, and public infrastructure projects. Provo and Orem generate consistent demand tied to commercial and residential growth along the I-15 corridor. Ogden and St. George are emerging markets, with St. George in particular seeing strong activity from sustained population and resort development in southern Utah.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States and lets you filter directly for construction project manager roles in Utah. Because sponsorship is not always disclosed in standard job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified sponsorship histories, saving significant research time. Filtering by Utah gives you a focused list of active openings from contractors and developers most likely to support an H-1B or similar petition.
Are there state-specific considerations for construction project managers pursuing sponsorship in Utah?
Utah follows federal prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program, so sponsoring employers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for construction project managers in the specific metropolitan area, whether Salt Lake City, Provo, or Ogden. Utah's construction boom has tightened the local labor market, which can work in favor of international candidates, as demonstrated local demand supports the employer's case for sponsorship. A Utah PE license or LEED credential strengthens your candidacy with most major contractors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
