Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in New Hampshire?
Larger general contractors and construction management firms operating in New Hampshire are the most likely sponsors. Companies like PC Construction, Gilbane Building Company, and national firms with NH project offices have histories of H-1B sponsorship for project management roles. Smaller regional contractors rarely sponsor due to administrative costs, so targeting firms with 500 or more employees and active federal or commercial portfolios is generally more productive.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa for construction project managers in New Hampshire, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The O-1A applies for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under TN status in the Engineer category if the role aligns with engineering rather than general management functions.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua generate the highest volume of construction project manager openings in New Hampshire, driven by commercial development and proximity to the Boston metro supply chain. Concord sees activity tied to state government infrastructure projects. The Seacoast region around Portsmouth has grown steadily with hospitality and mixed-use development. These four markets account for the majority of employer-sponsored construction management roles in the state.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters construction project manager jobs in New Hampshire specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sifting through roles where sponsorship is not offered. Because NH employers rarely advertise sponsorship upfront, using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate helps surface firms with a documented history of H-1B and other work visa filings for construction management positions in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for construction project managers seeking visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire does not have a state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage comparisons when employers file Labor Condition Applications for H-1B roles. Construction project managers working on federally funded NH infrastructure projects may also encounter Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wage requirements, which the sponsoring employer must document. Candidates holding PMP certification or an OSHA 30 credential tend to be stronger sponsorship candidates given NH employer preferences for credentialed managers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
