Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in Delaware?
Larger general contractors and construction management firms operating in Delaware are the most common sponsors for construction project manager roles. Companies with active federal or state infrastructure contracts, commercial development pipelines, or ties to Wilmington's corporate and real estate sectors have historically filed H-1B petitions for project management positions. Sponsorship is more common at mid-to-large firms than at smaller regional contractors.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used work visa for construction project managers in Delaware, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The L-1A visa may apply for managers transferred from a foreign office of a multinational firm. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering-adjacent roles.
Which cities in Delaware have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington is Delaware's largest city and the center of most commercial and infrastructure construction activity, making it the most likely location for sponsored construction project manager roles. Newark, home to the University of Delaware and surrounding development, also sees hiring activity. Dover, as the state capital, generates project management demand through government-related construction and public works contracts.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international job seekers and filters construction project manager roles in Delaware by visa sponsorship history, saving you time compared to browsing general job boards. You can search by role and state to surface employers who have previously sponsored work visas. Pairing Migrate Mate's job listings with direct outreach to Delaware-based construction firms that hold active federal or state contracts gives you a practical starting point.
Are there state-specific considerations for construction project managers seeking sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware follows federal prevailing wage requirements for H-1B sponsorship, meaning employers must pay the DOL-determined wage for construction project manager roles in the relevant geographic area. Delaware's small size means the job market is relatively concentrated, but the state's proximity to Philadelphia and the broader Mid-Atlantic region means some employers operate across state lines. A degree in construction management or civil engineering strengthens the specialty occupation argument for H-1B eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
