Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in Indiana?
Several of Indiana's larger general contractors and construction management firms have sponsored H-1B visas for project management roles. Companies including Pepper Construction, Shiel Sexton, Messer Construction, and Kitchell have operations in Indiana and a history of hiring internationally. Larger national firms with Indiana project offices, such as Turner Construction and Mortenson, also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for construction project manager sponsorships.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for construction project managers in Indiana, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related field. Some candidates also enter through the TN visa if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals with qualifying credentials. The EB-3 employment-based green card is a longer-term pathway some Indiana employers pursue for retained talent.
Which cities in Indiana have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of construction project manager sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by ongoing commercial, healthcare, and infrastructure development. Fort Wayne and Evansville also have active construction markets tied to industrial and logistics facility growth. The Columbus area has seen increased demand linked to manufacturing expansion projects, making it a secondary market worth targeting for internationally sponsored roles.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for construction project manager roles in Indiana without wading through positions that do not support international candidates. You can browse Indiana-specific listings, review which employers have active sponsorship openings, and track new postings as they appear. Focusing on larger general contractors and firms with established HR infrastructure improves the likelihood of finding employers set up to handle the sponsorship process.
Are there state-specific considerations for construction project managers seeking visa sponsorship in Indiana?
Indiana does not require a state-issued construction project manager license, but employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and location, which is determined by the specific county where work is performed. Indiana has multiple wage regions, so prevailing wage requirements can differ between Indianapolis and smaller markets. Candidates with Professional Engineer licensure or a PMP certification often find their applications receive stronger employer interest in Indiana's competitive market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
