Which companies sponsor visas for service engineers in Nebraska?
Omaha-based employers with active H-1B sponsorship histories for service engineer roles include Union Pacific, Becton Dickinson, and Streck. Agricultural equipment companies in the Greater Omaha area and medical device manufacturers in Lincoln have also filed LCAs for service engineering positions. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in manufacturing, life sciences, and enterprise technology sectors across the state.
Which visa types are most common for service engineer roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for service engineers in Nebraska, as most roles require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, meeting the specialty occupation standard. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications. Employers hiring for highly specialized field roles have also pursued O-1A petitions in limited cases.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most service engineer sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of service engineer visa sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of manufacturing, logistics technology, and life sciences employers. Lincoln is the next most active market, with university-adjacent technology firms and medical device companies hiring internationally. Smaller industrial hubs like Kearney and Grand Island have occasional openings tied to agricultural equipment manufacturers.
How to find service engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to identify service engineer openings in Nebraska without sorting through roles that don't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface positions from employers with active sponsorship histories in manufacturing, life sciences, and technology sectors concentrated around Omaha and Lincoln.
Are there any state-specific considerations for service engineers pursuing sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska's Department of Labor uses federal prevailing wage determinations for H-1B Labor Condition Applications, so employers must certify that offered compensation meets the DOL wage level for the specific service engineer role and location. The University of Nebraska system produces a consistent pipeline of engineering graduates, which means some employers are familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions, particularly in Omaha and Lincoln tech and manufacturing firms.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service engineer jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
