Which companies sponsor visas for automation engineers in New Hampshire?
Defense and advanced manufacturing employers are the most active sponsors in New Hampshire. BAE Systems in Nashua has a consistent track record of H-1B filings for engineering roles. Segula Technologies, Tyco Electronics, and several contract manufacturers in the Manchester-Nashua corridor also appear in DOL disclosure data for automation and controls engineering positions. Larger firms with multi-state operations tend to have established HR processes for sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for automation engineer roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa for automation engineers in New Hampshire, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering. Canadian citizens may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA engineer category, which does not require a lottery. Australian citizens holding E-3 visas are another option if the employer is willing to sponsor.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most automation engineer sponsorship jobs?
Nashua and Manchester account for the majority of automation engineering sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Nashua's concentration of defense contractors and electronics manufacturers makes it the primary hiring hub. Manchester, as the state's largest city, hosts a mix of industrial automation firms and engineering services companies. Concord and the Upper Valley region near Dartmouth College see smaller but steady demand, particularly from healthcare technology and precision manufacturing employers.
How to find automation engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for automation engineer roles in New Hampshire without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international candidates and surfaces roles from employers with a history of H-1B and TN filings. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify active openings aligned with your visa situation.
Are there any state-specific considerations for automation engineer visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since take-home pay differs from neighboring states like Massachusetts. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for the specific work location, and Nashua and Manchester fall under distinct wage determination zones. The University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth College produce engineering graduates who compete for local roles, though international alumni on OPT status often pursue sponsorship through the same manufacturing and defense employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored automation engineer jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
