Which companies sponsor visas for automation engineers in Georgia?
Georgia-based employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship activity for automation and controls engineering roles include Honeywell's Atlanta operations, Siemens Energy, NCR Voyix, and manufacturing firms tied to Hyundai's Metaplant in Bryan County. Larger industrial and logistics companies in the Atlanta metro and Savannah port corridor also sponsor regularly, particularly for roles requiring PLC programming, SCADA systems, or robotics integration expertise.
Which visa types are most common for automation engineer roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for automation engineers in Georgia, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Engineers with extraordinary ability may pursue O-1 visa classification, though this is far less common in manufacturing and industrial automation contexts.
How to find automation engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse automation engineer openings in Georgia without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role to surface positions at manufacturers, technology firms, and energy companies across Atlanta, Savannah, and emerging industrial hubs like the Bryan County EV corridor where sponsorship demand is growing.
Which cities in Georgia have the most automation engineer sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the largest share of automation engineer sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of technology firms, energy companies, and corporate manufacturing headquarters. Savannah is an emerging secondary market tied to port logistics and the Hyundai Metaplant supply chain. Warner Robins has aerospace-adjacent automation roles, and Augusta's industrial base adds additional opportunities outside the metro core.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for automation engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Georgia's expanding electric vehicle and advanced manufacturing sector, anchored by Hyundai's Bryan County facility and its supplier network, has increased demand for automation engineers with robotics and industrial controls backgrounds. Employers here tend to require prevailing wage compliance under DOL guidelines for H-1B filings. Georgia Tech's engineering pipeline also means many regional employers are familiar with the sponsorship process, which can reduce friction compared to states with less established hiring infrastructure.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored automation engineer jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
