Which companies sponsor visas for construction technicians in New Hampshire?
Employers with documented H-1B and E-3 sponsorship activity in New Hampshire's construction and infrastructure sector include Eversource Energy, AECOM, and Jacobs Engineering. Larger civil contractors working on state-funded highway and utility projects have also filed Labor Condition Applications for technical construction roles. Sponsorship is more common at established firms with dedicated HR and legal teams than at small regional contractors.
Which visa types are most common for construction technician roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for construction technician roles that require a bachelor's degree in engineering technology, civil engineering, or a closely related field. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering technician roles under USMCA. The O-1A applies to those with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their field. Prevailing wage compliance under the Labor Condition Application is required for all three.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most construction technician sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the largest share of construction technician job activity in New Hampshire, driven by commercial development, utilities infrastructure, and proximity to the Massachusetts border tech corridor. Concord, as the state capital, generates demand through government-contracted civil work. Portsmouth also sees activity tied to coastal infrastructure and private development along the Seacoast region.
How to find construction technician visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters construction technician roles specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're not sorting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. For New Hampshire, focus your search on employers in the Manchester, Nashua, and Concord areas. Migrate Mate also surfaces company-level sponsorship history, which helps identify which contractors and engineering firms have active LCA filings for construction technician positions in the state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for construction technicians in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire does not have a state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and total compensation benchmarking under the Department of Labor's LCA requirements. The state's construction activity is heavily tied to federal highway funding cycles and private utility investment, meaning sponsorship openings can be project-driven rather than continuous. Employers working on federally funded projects are subject to Davis-Bacon wage standards, which often align with or exceed DOL prevailing wage thresholds for sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction technician jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
